Second Party Opinions

An increasing number of companies, banks, and public-sector entities are raising capital through Green Bonds and Social Bonds in the sustainable capital market.

Second Party Opinions (SPOs) are independent external reviews of Sustainable Finance Frameworks or individual bond issuances. They confirm the intended use of proceeds and compliance with relevant market standards. Such reviews are required by investors, recommended by international standards, and often serve as a listing prerequisite for green bond markets.

Since 2017, rfu has been providing Second Party Opinions for bonds, promissory note loans (Schuldscheindarlehen), and loans. Through rfu consulting, these financial instruments can also be audited and certified in accordance with the Austrian Ecolabel (Österreichisches Umweltzeichen).
